Timbergate Golf Club

Timbergate Golf Club in Edinburgh is a Fuzzy Zoeller Signature Course with Clyde Johnson as architect, which is consistently sited as one of the top ten courses you can play in the Indianapolis area. This links style design is challenging to experienced players, while affording beginners and high handicappers with a pleasant and memorable day on the links. Four or more tee stations are present on every hole, affording all levels of players an opportunity to choose their medicine.

The tips play to 6965 yards with a formidable slope of 137. Alternate sets measure 6550 yards/129 slope, 5967 yards/123 slope, 5047 yards with a slope of 117. There are upwards of 65 bunkers situated greenside or along the well manicured fairways, and water is present on at least nine holes. These water hazards are located mostly on the perimeter however, with no forced carries. The conditioning from tee to green along this layout is exquisite! Greens are large in size, quick and true rolling - and are mildly undulating in nature. Land in regulation and birdies can be had!

Nearly all the manicured fairways are defined by mounding that is present on both sides, which at times helps to funnel in slightly offline tee shots. Though the terrain is fairly level, these mounds create a rolling nature to the layout, and often form backdrops to the beautiful green complexes. The sand bunkers are functional but are not overstated greenside, and though some mounding are collection areas are strategically positioned, up and downs and recoveries from slightly offline approaches are not overly difficult.

Water comes into play prominently on the 5th, 6th and 9th holes on the front side, plus the 17th and 18th on the back. A lake with sprouting fountain separates the fairways on the two finishing holes of each side, creating aesthetic beauty with memorable impressions. The high grasses that are situated between the layered tee areas and along the perimeter of the fairways also adds to the color and beauty of this fine layout.

On course the cart paths provides measurements at 100, 150 and 200, and yardage blocks and sprinkler heads also provide markings on the fairways. Color coded flags indicate the day's hole locations which rotate from front, middle and back. Amenities on property include a grass range and practice green, plus full service clubhouse with pro shop, indoor and outdoor banquet facilities that can accommodate up to 300 people, and a snack area/lounge with full bar menu and hot/cold sandwiches. There also is an outdoor patio. The property winds through a beautiful residential community, and is worth a look for the conditioning alone. The course is a pleasure to play and we highly recommend a round here! For more info, visit our page for Timbergate with direct link to their website by clicking here.
