French Lick Springs Resort & Spa recently celebrated its 100 birthday (in 2002) of traditional elegance as one of America's legendary resorts - and was honored to be selected as a member of Historic hotels of America by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

This resort was closed for restoration in 2005 and re-opened in November 2006. The top to bottom 382 million dollar restoration renewed over 5000 square feet of gold leafing and other remarkable ornamental design features. The nearby West Baden Hotel was also completely renovated, which means visitors can choose from two glorious hotel properties (within 1 mile of each other) that offer full service spas, a spacious casino, and amenities worthy of first class recognition.

GOLF AT FRENCH LICKS

French Licks Springs Resort & Spa

The golf facilities at French licks have undergone a complete facelift. The restored Donald Ross Hill Course (which played host to the 1924 PGA Championship won by Walter Hagen and is located 3 miles from the hotel) now features the original vision of the course's playing character, with updated technology improving the playing experience.  Renovations include the implementation of a computerized irrigation system and re-working of the square greens and unforgiving bunkers. There is also a state of the art GPS on all carts!  For a pictorial review of the Hill Course, click here

The Valley Links Course on resort property has been closed, and the new Tom Bendelow 9-hole conversion of the existing property is slated for a late 2007 opening. In 2008, a new Pete Dye design will offer 18-holes of championship golf, increasing the total holes available at this resort to 45. The clubhouse facilities at the Hill Course include locker rooms with showers, banquet/meeting facilities, plus Hagen's Restaurant/Lounge which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  The Sports Center features an indoor practice green and driving range and five indoor tennis courts. Video swing analysis and golf lessons of all types are available.

The grandeur of the French Lick Springs Hotel has returned. 443 guest rooms display the merging of the present with the historic past, as modern furnishings enhance old time charm.
